Is India quickly rising as a Taliban-style state from which we need to be concerned about terrorists?
The latest involves angry mobs who burned effigies of Richard Gere because he hugged and kissed Bollywood acress, Shilpa Shetty, during an AIDS awareness event. Shilpa Shetty pictures were also burned.
Apparently, they did not like the fact that Richard and Shilpa engaged in a public display of affection.
This is an example of what you cannot do in India without fearing for your life:
It looks like Shilpa and Richard are having a good time.
No obscene groping. No nudity. Oh no, Shilpa is holding a phallic symbol. Off with her head!
The people of India need to take an inward look at themselves and decide if this inhuman intolerance is what they want to be known for – and then to kick out and criticize the radicals who obsess over someone else’s public displays of affection.
