$7142 – Cost for Each Uninsured Person
“The analysis says that the number of uninsured Americans, now estimated at around 50 million, would decrease to about 36 million once the bill was fully implemented.” (“CBO: Senate Bill $1 Trillion Over 10 Years,” The Associated Press, 6/15/09)
$1 trillion over 10 years is $100 billion per year.
For $100 billion dollars per year, and being able to reduce the number of insured by 14 million people, means an annual cost of $7142 for each uninsured person who would then be insured.
That is some expensive health insurance being proposed – $600 per month per person.
