The IRS and Federal Health Insurance
One reason the federal government may be interested in controlling health care is to increase tax collections.
Instead of doctors being able to hide income, or not pay their taxes – now the federal government will have a more firsthand knowledge of how much they are making.
Overdue taxes? The federal government can decide not to reimburse doctors for their services and grab payments owed to pay off taxes, before the payments reach the doctors.
